Louis Vuitton Trianon

The Louis Vuitton Trianon canvas, used at the earliest beginnings of the Louis Vuitton company, has been re-introduced in this collection for Spring / Summer 2004 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Louis Vuitton.

The original Voile Trianon canvas was first created in 1858. It was the House of Vuitton's first signature creation and was used to cover flat trunks, circled in iron and detailed with wooden slats.

The Louis Vuitton Trianon canvas range of bags has three different styles in three differing sizes with different trim materials! Confused yet?the Louis Vuitton Sac De Nuit bag from the trianon range

Each of the bag styles in the Trianon line are named after older versions of bags, the "Sac De Nuit", the "Never Full Bag" and the "Poids Plume".

Now, this is where it starts to get complicated so I'll try to explain it as simply as possible!

In the Louis Vuitton Sac De Nuit (shown top right) range there are three different sizes, the GM, MM and PM. Then there are two colors of Trianon canvas, grey or olive green. There are also two types of leather trim - Suhali in a camel color and Ostrich in either Lilac or Rich Chocolate brown.the Louis Vuitton Never Full Bag from the trianon range

The "Never Full Bag" (shown left) range has the three sizes also, GM, MM and PM but no difference in color or trim. Each bag being grey color canvas with the camel colored Suhali trim.

Then there is the "Poids Plume" range (shown below right). In this there are just two sizes available, the MM and PM.Again, just the one color coanvas and trim.the Louis Vuitton Poids Plume Bag from the trianon range

There is also a stand alone bag from the Louis Vuitton Trianon range that fits best into the Sac De Nuit range - it's the Sac Express GM, a cross in appearance between the Sac De Nuit bags and a Suhali Fablueux bag.

Prices for the different bags within the Louis Vuitton Trianon range starts at $1,780 for the smaller of the Poids Plume, rising to $4,800 for the Sac Express.

The interior of each bag within the LV Trianon range has a gorgeous striped lining of cotton and polyester, matching the old linings used in the original trunks.the Interior of the trianon range bags

The most distinctive mark for me though is the use of exterior labels on each of the bags. This is normally a common mistake made by replica makers for the more vintage Monogram Canvas, putting labels on the outside of bags where it normally wouldn't be found! (It's important to note that the wording on each label is different, depending on which style of bag it's on. I'll bet you that the faker makers get that one wrong! So, Tip One for those planning on hunting down any of the Louis Vuitton Trianon range? Learn what should be written on each label before you go looking - and save yourself a lot of aggro!)
