Louis Vuitton Rift
The Louis Vuitton Multicolore Rift really is rather good actually.
Now, I know you're not supposed to give away the plot to a piece of writing until you've built up suspense but I couldn't think of any other way of starting this review.
When I review bags on here, I do it based on feedback from other owners and users as well as my own experiences. That's one reason you'll find that reviews written by me either deal with new bags a short while after they've been out (so I have time to buy, use and think a bit!) or they talk about new bags being introduced but they don't give a users feedback, they don't actually contain comments or details on what it is like to use or wear.
How can they if I or my large circle of "user reviewer" friends haven't been able to get hold of it yet?
But the Louis Vuitton Multicolore Rift review just had to start the way it did because I have been sitting here for the best part of twenty minutes, trying to think of something clever, witty or just plain inspired to say - and my brain keeps arguing with me!
Says I to me - "Okay, how should I start this review? What feature or function best describes the LV Rift?"
Brain "Why not tell them it's actually very good? You never thought it would be and you were expecting to have to ask why it was added to the Multicolore range. SO start by telling them that.!"
Anyway - cut a long story short - brain one, again!
I had expected not to like the Louis Vuitton Rift, I have to confess. I'm not sure if it's just me but LV seem to be introducing quite a few "quirky" style and size bags recently, many of which I can't see a logical or useful reason for - apart from trying to increase their already large profits.
But the appeal and range of uses and ages the Louis Vuitton Rift can work for is quite impressive.
The first appeal that springs to mind is the slightly funky and fun loving evening clutch type approach. For those who party of a night time but want something that can carry slightly more than one lipstick, one gloss, one credit card, house / car keys and loose change - the Rift is a definite winner.
At 6.3 inches wide, 5.5 inches high and 1.8 inches wide, the Rift is almost in a parallel universe! I know, sounds nuts but when you wear and use the Rift it seems neither too big nor too small?! So apart from assuming that it has found someway of being small in size and having storage space assigned to it in a parallel universe - I have absolutely no idea how LV managed to make it feel so small yet pack away so much gear. But it does.
As well as having an interior patch pocket the LV Rift also has an exterior pocket, closed by a golden snap.
The shoulder strap is adjustable so you can comfortably wear it two or three different ways or remove it completely.
The natural cowhide trim protects the multicolore canvas and the interior has the gorgeous raspberry red alcantara lining that we all love.
The Louis Vuitton Rift comes in currently at $645.00. Not cheap for a clutch but it is a well pitched price for a bag that is this versatile.
My only concern with the Louis Vuitton Rift is how easily friends don't hear correctly when they ask you what the bag is. "It's a Louis Vuitton that's ripped? Gee, I thought they made their bags of better quality than that!"
Still, we know that it defies the laws of Quantum Physics and inhabits a parallel universe. Try explaining that to them instead!
