Louis Vuitton Gracie
The Louis Vuitton Multicolore Gracie is part of the Takashi Murakami Multicolore range.
Very different too!
Originally shown at the 2004 Fall / Winter show, it is a mix of a number of smart little styles.
The first point of interest on the Louis Vuitton Multicolore Gracie and something that is rarely seen on Louis Vuitton handbags in general is the use of frame opening.
Even rarer is the fact that it is still a zip opening bag. Normally, a frame opening would be held by a counter angled bobble catch - you know the sort, like that found on the French Purse??
Cut and built from the Multicolor canvas and using natural cowhide trim and golden brass hardware, the Louis Vuitton Gracie is sturdy and should stand up well to a burst of concentrated use. (You know how it is, all of a sudden, one bag stands out from all the others as a "user".)
With a fan shaped crest of natural cowhide over the S lock and golden chain straps, this handbag is never going to be for the quiet and retiring among us. This bag screams "Designer Label" at the top of it's lungs!
Inside is an inner patch pocket. The interior itself is made of the Ruby colored alcantara lining on the white bag and the Mole grey color alcantara on the black bag.
It measures 11 inches long, 3.5 inches deep and 8.7 inches high and retails at the moment for $2,500.00 (June 2006) - if you can find one that is! Although it is a full member of the Louis Vuitton Multicolore range, it seems harder to come by!
If you fancy chasing one down, you'll probably be luckier phoning Vuitton direct on the customer service line than dropping into your nearest boutique and striking lucky!
