Louis Vuitton Multicolore Color Problem?
Here's one to watch out for girls.
It's been reported that some of the white bags from the Multicolore range are showing color bleed - predominantly from the red lining on the inside.
This seems to be affecting bags made around the 2003 / 2004 era of production and appears as a yellowing of the white leather on the outsideof the bag.
The worrying thing though is that various people have mentioned it to their SAs and they've all had different answers - which indicates LV don't actually know for sure if they've cured the problem or not.
Apparently, the bleeding is caused by the glue that was originally being used in the Multicolore range. (Remeber, the MC range launched in 2003 so this would be the first run of production!) One shopper was told that they now use adhesive strips instead of glue - another was told that they think they have solved the problem but have had a few bags back recently!
So - what to do if you were set on an MC bag?
First of all - don't panic. This isn't something that is affecting every white MC bag, far from it, it just seems to be a few at the moment. It's unlikely you'll get the problem so breath - relax.
A few options for those who want to try and cater for the chance of it happening to their bags, with the main one being buy the Black version, not the white, just in case? Now I know that some of you only like a certain bag in White, not black (like - me and the MC Pochette!) so if this isn't an option, make sure you talk to your SA when you make the purchase and ask her about the known problem of the occassional color bleed from the lining to the leather.
Talk to her about it nicely - not so much as to get an answer from here but, more importantly, make sure the conversation states what you should do if the color does bleed. Get her to advise you what you should do in those circumstances and make sure you get her name if you don't know it already!
That way, if - and I say IF - the problem hits your bag, you know who to quote when you take it back to the store and ask for a refund / exchange!!
